Have A Much Anticipated Friday

Happy Tuesday everyone! I hope you all had a nice, long & relaxing weekend. But back to the flipside...

After the week I had, Friday was very much anticipated. Add that to the fact that it was a 3-day weekend, and I was elated! All I had to do was get through Friday...easy right? Oh yeah, have I ever mentioned Friday is sometimes the busiest day in my office? We often have tons of things to do prepare for the weekend - open house advertising, brochures, last minutes surprises...etc. You know, it really does help me to get through loooooong days when I am dressed well. Also, something about wearing heels just puts me in a better mood when I need it.

Green & Blue Floral Dress - Target; Black Cardigan with Pockets - JCPenney; Black Patent Pumps - Payless
As I was looking through my closet, waiting  for something to speak to me, I saw this dress and realized that it's been months since I've worn it. Perfect! Now that we're in fall, and the temps are down and up and back to down, I threw on this black cardigan so that my shoulders would be covered but I could cool off if necessary. With the black waist band on the dress and the black cardigan, I decided to keep the black going with some black pumps. Oh can I just take a minute to tell you how much I love those shoes? They are super comfy and I really like the toe because it's almost like a cross between a rounded toe and a pointed toe. But best of all? The price. I scored them at Payless during BOGO for $5!! I've gotten tons of wear out of them, though I haven't really been calculating but if I had to guess the cost per wear would be at around 75 cents now...though it could be lower. Yeah, I'm keeping these babies around for a long time.

With the accessories I had a little fun with color. It's been a while since I wore my black feather hair clip, and I was in a fun mood. The necklace is a blue pearl that perfectly compliments the blue tones in the dress. And the bracelet echoes the green, with some flecks of blue too. Since I was wearing a thicker knit, I thought it was just begging for a brooch. I have this awesome elephant brooch with rhinestone accents, which I hardly ever wear, so I went for it. It's kind of funny how this outfit naturally evolved with pieces that don't get as much wear as others.
