Thought Jar - Reassessment

Hey guys. So I'm thinking a reassessment is in order here. I thought that I could get caught up on all of these posts but I haven't been able to focus. We did in fact get the rental that we applied for, yay! :) The bad news is that we're moving this weekend and the pressure has been on the past few days for me to get ready for everything, i.e. packing, planning, changing my address and all that jazz. I have been taking photos though, so I will show you what I got at some point. I think I'm going to have to continue taking a break from posting until I get this move over. I want to be able to focus on posting quality content but my head is just not here right now. As soon as things calm down and the stress of handling a move has passed, I'll be back in the game and more focused, I promise. Until then, ta ta! :)

Thought Jar - Just A Note, Short and Sweet

Hello my wonderful readers! That is, if you're still out there...I know, I've been a bad, bad blogger. I'm sure it appears that I have fallen off the map but I swear I'm not going anywhere. Things have just been a little rough here for me these past few weeks, more so than usual. My boss has been sick, leaving me to pick up the already heavy slack. I've also been having to search for a rental, as my BF and I have to move. I don't want to sound like I'm complaining though. The boss is back to work and we've found a place which we love that I'll find out later today whether or not we will be moving there. So things are starting to smooth out a bit again.

Either way, I promise to devote some time this week to catching back up. It's not that difficult to maintain the day to day posts, but once I get so backlogged I do admit I feel a bit overwhelmed. But fear not! I have plenty of outfits from these past two weeks that I'm just dying to show you, so I won't keep you waiting much longer.

Lastly, before I go for now, I wanted to share a photo of a recent shoe purchase. Now that I'm getting ready to move, I'm going to have to curb my purchasing, so it will probably be the last new shoe for a while. Unless I find some really cute ones at the thrift store... ;)

Have A Pink & Black, Florals & Bows Day

Why hello! We're catching up, we're almost there! Let's take a trip back in time to last Thursday for a moment.

Pink T-Shirt - Merona via Target; Black Leggings - Xhiliaration via Target; Black Floral Skirt - Old Navy; Black Bow Heels - Pierre Dumas via Burlington Coat Factory
As I mentioned in my post last night, my outfits last week seem to put themselves together without much nudging on my end. This outfit started with a thought and quickly snowballed into a full blown ensemble. I began with the t-shirt and skirt (a novel concept, I know). My next decision was what to cover my legs with. I didn't feel like messing around with tights that day, so black leggings it was. Without tights, that left my feet uncovered, but I easily solved that issue by wearing a new pair of pink lace socks. Since the shirt has a bow (in pink), I decided to echo the detail in my footwear (in black). The skirt offered the perfect floral theme to continue with my accessories. And just like that my outfit was complete!

Have A Make the Best of It Day

Last week the weather just did not want to let up. Wednesday was one of the worst days because it was just cold and wet and dark and dreary. Oh well, I decided to just make the best of it.

Gray Peasant Blouse - Mossimo Supply Co via Target; Dip Dyed Cardigan - My Tribe via HauteLook; Jeggings - Hue via DSW; Black Gold Floating Platforms - Isabel Toledo via Payless; Cream Belt - Thrifted
I used the weather as a great excuse to wear this recently purchased cardigan. Since I bought it from a winter sweater clearance sale, I wasn't sure if I'd get a chance to wear it again. It's a gorgeous sweater, but it is best for really cold days since it's incredibly warm. Trust me, Wednesday was a really cold day. Plus we'd been battling with the HVAC system at my office since it was actually blowing cold air. We have a space heater to combat it, however we also ended up tripping the breakers 3 times last week. Such fun! Anyway, I've rambled a bit, so to get back on topic, this cardigan helped me not have to rely too heavily on the space heater that day.

All of my outfits last week just seem to put themselves together and this one was no exception. I drew from the array of neutrals in the sweater for the rest of the pieces in the outfit. I went for jeggings of course, because they help keep me warm and toasty as well. The cream colored belt I threw on over the gray peasant blouse because, without the belt, the structure was lacking underneath the billowy sweater. I kept my feet understated with brown socks and black gold heels. Then I finished it off with a mixed metal floral necklace and a mixed metal stretch ring. Even though the outfit was dark, I didn't feel at all somber while wearing it. The warmth from the cardigan truly helped me keep my spirits up on such a bummer of a weather day.
