Sequined Tank Top - Old Navy: Shrug Cardigan - Ross; Skirt - Thrifted; Leggings - Torrid; Teal Floral Flats - Payless; Skinny Belt - H & M |
The leggings are a first for me in this type of outfit. Usually with skirts, I go with tights. But Monday was just one of those days where I wanted to feel cozier than tights would allow me to feel. I wasn't sure how to cover myself from the ankle to feet and I didn't really want to break the continuous line of brown down my legs. Luckily I had a clean pair of brown socks that seemed to match (but in the photos it's a little more obvious...what do you guys think?). I didn't feel like fussing with heels that day, so flats it was! I decided to use one extra pop of color to accent the skirt. Lastly, I belted over the skirt to better define my waist and to keep the voluminous skirt from billowing out all day and looking like I had any kind of bump under there....I think the belt helped to flatten out the look of my tummy a bit. I asked my BF what he thought and he said that it looked good with the belt (he is pretty good about being honest when it comes to my outfits). I also asked him if he thought that it kind of looked like a dress the way I styled it and he shrugged. Oh well, in my mind I think it sort of does!
Do you ever ask your SO or anyone else for honest opinions of your outfits? Do you usually like what you hear? How do you react if someone puts things in a not-so-sensitive way? My boyfriend can sometimes be a bit abrasive with his feedback, without really realizing it. Usually I get upset, tell him he's insensitive, and then later realize that he actually had a point. Lol why is it I usually have to let what he's said sink in a little before I can admit that he's usually right?
