Have A Make the Best of It Day

Last week the weather just did not want to let up. Wednesday was one of the worst days because it was just cold and wet and dark and dreary. Oh well, I decided to just make the best of it.

I used the weather as a great excuse to wear this recently purchased cardigan. Since I bought it from a winter sweater clearance sale, I wasn't sure if I'd get a chance to wear it again. It's a gorgeous sweater, but it is best for really cold days since it's incredibly warm. Trust me, Wednesday was a really cold day. Plus we'd been battling with the HVAC system at my office since it was actually blowing cold air. We have a space heater to combat it, however we also ended up tripping the breakers 3 times last week. Such fun! Anyway, I've rambled a bit, so to get back on topic, this cardigan helped me not have to rely too heavily on the space heater that day.

All of my outfits last week just seem to put themselves together and this one was no exception. I drew from the array of neutrals in the sweater for the rest of the pieces in the outfit. I went for jeggings of course, because they help keep me warm and toasty as well. The cream colored belt I threw on over the gray peasant blouse because, without the belt, the structure was lacking underneath the billowy sweater. I kept my feet understated with brown socks and black gold heels. Then I finished it off with a mixed metal floral necklace and a mixed metal stretch ring. Even though the outfit was dark, I didn't feel at all somber while wearing it. The warmth from the cardigan truly helped me keep my spirits up on such a bummer of a weather day.
